Ukraine 2009 5 Hryvnia Year of the Rat with Diamond Eye 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin

The coin is dedicated to the Year of the Rat, one of the animal-symbols of the Chinesel calendar, which is based on the twelve year cycle of the Jupiter, the largest planet of the Solar system.

On the reverse of the Ukraine 2009 5 Hryvnia Year of the Rat with Diamond Eye 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin there is depicted a rat made in a technique of a cheap popular print within a vegetable ornamentation setting (a rat's eye is decorated with 0,01carat diamond).  Both above and  below this composition there is a depiction of contour figures of all 12 symbols of the Oriental calendar.

On the coin  obverse  within setting made of a conventionalized vegetable ornamentation there are inscriptions:in Cryllic (National Bank /of Ukraine/ 5/ Hryvnia); above there is the small National Emblem of Ukraine, beneath: 2008, the coin issue year, as well as Ag 925, the designation of metal; 15,55g, its weight in fineness and the NBU Mint logotype.
